ABOUT US
There has been a nursery at Charlwood School for over 40 years. Initially, it was a playgroup, then when government funding was introduced for three year olds, it became the Pre-School it is today.
Our sessions are held in one of the halls in Charlwood Village School. It is separate to the school with its own entrance off the playground.
We are run separately from the school but our closeness means there is a great transition from Pre-School to School. It is helped by the long standing friendships and familiarity with the school surroundings and staff.
The Pre-School is run by a committee of elected parents and is registered with Surrey County Council and Ofsted to take a maximum of 24 children per session.
We welcome children from the age of two, both in nappies and potty trained. We invoice monthly and we accept funded places. To find out more information about funding please visit our FUNDING PAGE.
Our Pre-School runs from Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 3:00 and your child can attend full days or half days, until 12, if preferred.

KEY PERSON

Key Person
At Charlwood Pre-school each child is assigned a Key-person who will be there from their first day to make sure your child is happy and settled.
Nothing is more important to us than ensuring your child settles in quickly and easily to life with us. Therefore parents and carers are invited to stay with their child until they are happy they have settled.
Throughout the term your child’s Key-person will keep a record of your child’s development and create a scrap-book of their achievements.
Parents are invited to meet with their child’s key-person each half-term to discuss their child’s progress through the Early Learning Goals and the fun they have at pre-school.
Supervisors and key-persons welcome parents and carers input. Regular discussions on individual child development are encouraged at drop off and collection times.
THE COMMITTEE
Charlwood Pre-school is a charity, run by a Committee of parent and community volunteers. They offer their time freely to support and promote our village pre-school.
The committee works closely with the pre-school staff, which is vital to the smooth running of the pre-school.
The Committee hold meetings each term to keep abreast of pre-school matters, plan fund raising events and to ensure the staff and children have all they need to continue to flourish and develop.
Being a Committee member is very rewarding and a great way to meet other parents. It gives an insight into the hard work that happens behind the scenes and also creates an opportunity to have a real impact on the children’s early years educational experience.
If you feel you would like to become more involved in the Committee then please do not hesitate to let Carla know and she will put you in touch with one of our committee members.
